Welcome
Welcome to the NEW Editorial Services website for 2010.
The term Heritage spans across cultures, time, borders, topics, religion, war and events. This year we also go online with HK Heritage - Hong Kong Heritage.
When we invent or build something it's most often for a purpose but with time it can become part of our Heritage. Concorde was built as a supersonic passenger carrier but today we'd claim it to be part of modern British Heritage - I'd include the Spitfire and the Red Arrows in this category.
Shakespeare wrote for entertainment and Chaucer was okay with a pen. Van Gogh's paintings and Mozart's music are a priceless inheritance to some. I think Heritage can be personal and selective and of course the Heritage of the future doesn't even exist yet. Let's also remember that Shakespeares' homes are Grade I Listed buildings.
The Grand Canyon, Empire State Building & Hollywood are just a taste of American Heritage. Look East to the Taj Mahal & Great Wall of China. Let's not forget the Great Barrier Reef, the Pyramids or Man Landing on the Moon.
Parts of our Natural Heritage were here before us - the Jurassic coastline in Southern England, the South American Amazon rainforest and the Himalayas.
Let's respect what we've got for a little bit longer.
